Neurodivergent Communication Webinar - Small Talk Without Masking

Small Talk Without Masking – Communication Strategies for Neurodivergent Adults

Live webinar with Q&A,
(Replay available for 7 days for all ticket holders.)

Small talk is rarely harmless. For autistic and ADHD people, it can feel unsafe, confusing, and exhausting. What many call polite conversation often functions as data collection, coercion, or unpaid labor, especially for Black neurodivergent women expected to smile, share, and soothe.

This live 75-minute session blends lived experience, West African communication philosophy, and practical strategies you can use immediately. You will learn to spot when small talk is used strategically against you, and how to respond without overexposing yourself.

What you will gain
  • Why small talk feels unsafe for autistic and ADHD people, understand your reactions without self-blame
  • How vague requests function as coercion, spot manipulation before you say yes
  • How workplaces and professional settings disguise extraction, protect your expertise from being mined for free
  • Medium talk as a strategy, engage safely without masking or oversharing
  • Reframing directness as care, set boundaries without apology
  • Practical scripts you can use immediately, workplace, family, and social situations

Who this is for
  • Autistic and ADHD adults, late-identified or diagnosed
  • Black neurodivergent persons and women and femmes navigating professional spaces
  • Anyone who wants clear language to protect energy and time
